Hendrix and Willem Greve invest in Ramazotti vd Watermolen

Stal Hendrix and Willem Greve invest in premium stallion

The Hendrix family has teamed up with the newly crowned Dutch champion Willem Greve for the purchase of the highly promising Ramazotti van de Watermolen. This outstanding son of United Touch S already made a strong impression at the KWPN stallion show last winter, where he was declared as a premium stallion.

To govern is to foresee, and therefore it is important to invest in top talents at a young age. “Ramazotti caught our attention, and we decided to invest together with Willem, with his father Jan Greve also remaining a part-owner. We all have high expectations for this stallion in both sport and breeding,” says Paul Hendrix. This breeding season, the son of United Touch S will remain at De Watermolen, after which the intention is for him to participate in the KWPN performance test.

Performance genes
Willem has had good experiences with various relatives of this premium stallion. For instance, he trained his father United Touch S, who is now performing very well with Richard Vogel. The German duo has already achieved six international victories including in the Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva, the 5* Grand Prix of Wellington, and the World Cup of Stuttgart. In the damline, Ramazotti van de Watermolen traces back to the Carthago daughter Oselli in the third generation. This mare was part of Willem’s string of horses twenty years ago and this Grand Prix mare can also be found in the damline of the top level showjumper Fruselli (s.Zambesi) ridden by Holly Smith.

Investing in the future
Pairing one of the greatest talents of his year with one of the best riders in the Netherlands seems like a precursor to success. “Willem’s performances are unparalleled, and we hope that with the joint purchase of this stallion, we can contribute to his future successes. As Ramazotti has very good origins, we try to bring together the best of both worlds. We look forward to their further development,” says Paul Hendrix.
