One of the most talked-about stallions of the KWPN Stallion Show 2024! During the first viewing in Ermelo and the second viewing in Den Bosch, this impressive horse showed himself fantastically. It was absolutely no surprise that this powerhouse was chosen as one of the selected premium stallions: Ramazotti van de Watermolen. He was praised by the jury for his youthfulness, amazing canter with great balance and capability to adapt, his sharpness over jumps, and his potential as a future show jumper.

Ramazotti is a son of United Touch S. The jump-off of this phenomenon during the Rolex Grand Prix in Geneva is etched in everyone’s memory. The dark brown stallion is a special product of line breeding. His sire Untouched, who competed at the 1.60m level, is a son of the 1.60m stallion Untouchable and the 1.60m mare Cantate Touch. The dam of United Touch is a daughter of the same Cantate Touch and the 1.60m stallion Lux Z. Further down the damline, we see Classic Touch, the famous mare who won individual gold with Ludger Beerbaum at the Olympic Games in Barcelona and is the foundation of a damline from which many international show jumpers originate, such as Jewel’s Carat, E-Jewel’s Exclusive Touch, Jewel’s Chrystal, Con Touch S, and many others.

On the dam’s side, Ramazotti is descended from the mare Jedoselli W, a daughter of Dakar VDL and Doselli. Dakar VDL is a son of the 1.60m stallion Cardento VDL and has successfully competed at the 1.45m level. Doselli’s sire is Landsdowne, also known as Wietvot. The son of Guidam jumped overseas up to the 1.60m level and was ridden by Irish top rider Connor Swail. Doselli’s dam is Oselli (Carthago Z x Lesanto), who also competed at the 1.60m level. Willem Greve achieved great results with this mare, including winning the GP for young riders in Hengelo.

Ramazotti’s damline is filled with sport horses, and we can safely say that his performances in Ermelo and Den Bosch came as no surprise. A very interesting stallion who can make a very positive contribution to breeding!
